CLASSES & MEETINGS 

A number of regular classes and meetings are held at the Corn Hall both in the day time and evening. Below are a list of those currently running with details of how to get in touch and join in.

 

Singing for All – Community Choir

Singing for All – Community Choir has been so successful that the Corn Hall is running it throughout the summer (12th May – 25th August 2018). Our relaxed and informal choir meets on Saturday mornings and everyone is welcome πŸ™‚

Experienced and friendly tutor Kate Warner leads you through a variety of musical genres including folk, gospel and pop.

There’s no pressure to perform and all abilities and ages welcome, including families.

The Arts Society Diss

The Arts Society Diss is our local member of The Arts Society (formerly NADFAS).

The group hold monthly meetings with nationally known experts in a wide variety of the arts and heritage – fine art, theatre, music, film, literature, architecture etc. Meetings are held at 2pm on the third Tuesday of each month except for July and August. Lectures start at 2.15pm and coffee or tea is available from 1.30pm.

New member welcome – and visitors at any meeting – Β£5 on the door.

Car parking is in Gaze’s Auction yard.  Shuttle transport is available for transfer to the Corn Hall if needed.

Pilates with Miranda Tuddenham

Classes at The Corn Hall are on Mondays 11:15am -12:15pm and Wednesdays 11:00am -12:00pm.

All abilities and experience welcome.

STOTT Pilates is a contemporary approach to the original Pilates method. These exercises are designed to restore the natural curves of the spine and rebalance the muscles around the joints. This means more concentration is placed on the pelvis and collar bone stabilization, and the integration of all body parts into one. The technique has a variety of modifications and equipment meaning it can cater for a wide variety of body types and abilities, making it applicable to sport-specific training and everyday life. STOTT Pilates has five basic principles; breathing, pelvic placement, rib cage placement, scapular placement and head and cervical spine placement.
