Things are getting creepy, kooky, mysterious and spooky at the Corn Hall this half term! Come along and join in the fun at our new spine-chilling Hallowe'en stage school!

Children will take part in socially distanced drama games, script work and improvisation workshops (all with a terrifying twist!) as they devise a devilishly thrilling and theatrical ‘Spooktacular’ mini pantomime, full of monstrous music and movement for family members to enjoy on the last day (current restrictions permitting).

Delivered by DBS checked, trained and experienced theatre and performing arts tutor Jen Alexander.

Jen Alexander is a freelance performing arts practitioner and teaches Acting and Musical Theatre at Greasepaint Performance Academy. Jen has taught drama and physical theatre at Crocodile Theatre Schools (Norwich, Hellesdon and Beccles) and Limelight Studios (Norwich) as well as delivering theatre skills workshops at the Corn Hall (Diss), Barford Primary School, Rackheath Youth Theatre and Dereham Operatic Society Youth Theatre Company.

As a performer/director Jen’s stage experience includes work with: Stage Two/Norwich Theatre Royal in association with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Maddermarket Theatre, the Sewell Barn Theatre, Phoenix Opera Company, Norwich Pride, Intermedia East Dance Company, SIX15's Norwich Medieval Mystery Plays at Norwich Castle, Moss Banks Productions, Rackheath Players, Planet Theatre Productions, Fossick Theatre at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, UEA Drama Studio, East Norfolk Operatic Society, Tuneful Tots, Dereham Theatre Company and Limelight Theatre Company.

Please Note: Children are invited to bring Hallowe’en costume pieces to wear over their clothing for their mini pantomime, such as hats, capes, animal ears etc. but there will not be any facilities available onsite to change into full costumes; face painting will not be allowed on this occasion.

Children will need to wear footwear suitable for indoor games and activities throughout the 3 days (e.g. plimsolls, dance shoes, trainers - no bare feet) and comfortable clothing for movement (leggings, shorts or jogging bottoms – no skirts/dresses).

Please ensure long hair is plaited or tied back. Art/colouring activities will be available for children who wish to take part in this, but due to Covid-19 guidelines, we ask that they bring their own named pencil case with pencils, pens etc. and not share their equipment with other children.
First time I have been able to leave my daughter at an event like this other than school with familiar people & surroundings. She really seemed to enjoy herself.
