A Streetcat Named Bob (12A)

Venue: Corn Hall

Directed by Roger Spottiswoode, UK, 2016, 103 mins
With Luke Treadaway, Bob the Cat, Ruta Gedmintas

Based on James Bowen's bestselling autobiographical book, this delightful tale of second chances puts Bob (played by himself) centre stage, yet still addresses the tough issue of drug addiction with surprising frankness. Olivier award-winner Treadaway, gives a raw, sensitive performance as the straggly-haired Bowen, while Bob is always on hand to provide the cuteness and laughs. This is a heart-warming, feel-good movie that manages to be both amiable family fare and hard-hitting social drama.
