A Royal Academician, in 2011 Eileen Cooper became the first female Keeper of the Royal Academy of Art in its 250 year history. A painter and printmaker, recently she has focused on the medium of linocut and woodcut, and this exhibition includes printmaking from the past few years as well as recent work in bronze.
Cooper’s art has often been described as ‘firmly rooted in her personal experience’ and throughout her work, woman dominates the scene, with wit and strength.
