Juliette Binoche gives a stellar performance as Isabelle, a serial dater of other women’s husbands, who knows what she wants yet is always looking for something new. The sexuality of middle-aged women, when it comes up at all in Hollywood, tends to be treated with either pity or condescending encouragement, Isabelle is defiantly immune to both of those in Claire Denis's witty, spellbinding and very French romantic comedy.
