Lost Beasts of Norfolk and Suffolk
Venue: The Corn Hall
Elephants at Ipswich, rhinos at Cromer and hippopotami in the Waveney valley... Their fossil bones and teeth are Ice Age museum curiosities, though luckily we can see their living descendants today.
Join Tim Holt-Wilson - geoconservationist, author of books on the geology of Norfolk and Suffolk and former curator of Diss Museum – on a safari exploring the lost, native wildlife of East Anglia over the past 3 million years, with special reference to fossil sites in the Diss area.
Some local specimens will be on display for you to take a closer look at.
This event is part of the Diss Elephants project with thanks to National Lottery players and the Heritage Fund.
