Luke Wright’s Stand-up Poetry Club
Venue: Corn Hall
This month we welcome the return of Martin Newell, writer, poet and veteran performer. Newell's work has been published weekly in various national newspapers for nearly 30 years. He was resident poet for The Independent titles for 15 years, before doing the same job for The Sunday Express as resident poet and occasional feature writer.
Martin will be joined by special guest Rosy Carrick. Quick-witted, charismatic and full to the brim with surreal and disgusting imagination, Rosy Carrick’s eccentric style, dense rhyme structures and forceful imagery have won her international acclaim, as well as firmly cementing her place as one of the UK’s most unusual and exciting contemporary poets.
Hosted by Luke Wright, who will be debuting some new material!
