Phil Greenwood – Etching the Landscape
Venue: The Corn Hall
Phil Greenwood - Our exhibitions are back with an uplifting exhibition of landscapes by the celebrated artist Phil Greenwoood.
Greenwood's exhibition of evocative landscape etchings was due to run for six weeks last spring. Locked down twice, his show only managed 2 weeks in December before we had to close it again. The feedback from those who saw it in that brief run was so positive that he is our reopening show in both the lower and first floor galleries.
With a career stretching back to the ‘70s, Greenwood's atmospheric and superbly crafted landscapes have long been favourites with the public and have been regularly exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer show.
His etchings are about ‘spirit of place’, recalling scenes we have all seen somewhere in our minds – which is why he is one of the most successful landscape artists in the country.
This is an ideal chance to brighten your home with one of Greenwood’s images.
Our autumn programme will include new work by the celebrated Maggi Hambling, Essex artist James Dodds who has been described as “boat building’s artist laureate” and our own Mike Webb.
