Coronavirus and The Corn Hall
The world is currently in the grip of a global pandemic. We have implement measures at The Corn Hall to help keep you, our volunteers and staff as safe as possible and to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Signs & Symptoms
We have told our staff and volunteers if they experience any of the following:
- a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
- a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
- a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
We ask you, our loyal customers that if you experience any of the above to not come to The Corn Hall and to self isolate at home for 10 days.
We have created a dynamic risk assessment which is a live document and is constantly being updated. All staff have been briefed on this and the new safety measures implement. To see a copy of the risk assessment please email [email protected]
Physical (Social) Distancing
We don’t like the term social distancing, because we all want to be social but with some space between us. Therefore, we are calling it PHYSICAL distancing. We are keeping with the Government recommended 2-metre distancing rule and will be implementing this wherever possible. We know that it will not always be possible but we ask you to observe physical distancing wherever you can whilst inside The Corn Hall.
We have placed around the building hand sanitising units. These have been placed at strategic locations the building so they are readily accessible for everyone to use.
We have placed protective screens at contact points in the building such as the Box Office and Cafe counters. This puts a physical screen between you and our volunteers and staff to reduce the potential spread of Covid-19.
One Way Round
There is now a one way system in place at The Corn Hall and when using the Cafe. You will see arrows and markings on the floor to help with guiding you around.
The rules around toilets will need to change depending on the size of the event and the use. However, general day to day use for customers using the Cafe we have implemented a one in and one out system. Because of distancing rules we have had to close the ground floor ladies, but have opened up both the gents and the accessible toilet for everyone to use.
The Main Hall (Auditorium)
The hall now looks very different. We are still working on how we can get the maximum number of people seated without compromising your safety. More information will be released as and when we know it.
When coming to the Cafe, you will be asked for your name and a contact detail – this could be an address, email or best telephone number. This is to help with the NHS Track and Trace service. We will NOT use your information for any marketing nor will we share it with any one else. We will keep your data securely for 21 days from when you visited and then afterwards it will be securely destroyed and in line with guidelines from the Information Commissioners Office (ICO). All food and drinks are prepared within the Covid-19 guidelines and from the Food Standards Agency
Face Coverings and or Masks
There is growing evidence that wearing a face covering in an enclosed space helps protect individuals and those around them from COVID-19.
When attending The Corn Hall we will expect you to wear a face covering, we also will expect you to wear a face covering when attending a screening and or film in our main auditorium.
If you would like any other information on the steps we have taken to become Covid-19 compliant please do not hesitate to email [email protected] or call 01379 652241, if you leave a message the Operations Manager will get back to you as soon as reasonable practicable.
