Caravaggio
Five years in the making, this is the most extensive film ever produced about one of the most brilliant and controversial artists of all time — Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio.

Through stunning visuals, dramatic reconstructions, and exclusive access to Caravaggio’s masterpieces, this documentary sheds new light on the painter’s turbulent life and revolutionary art. With first-hand testimony from the artist himself — imagined on the eve of his mysterious disappearance — the film explores the hidden clues embedded in his work, revealing a man torn between sacred devotion and profane desire.

Award-winning filmmakers David Bickerstaff and Phil Grabsky unravel the secrets behind Caravaggio’s intense naturalism, bold figures, and dramatic use of light. From Rome to Naples, Malta to Sicily, this is a gripping portrait of a man whose life was as extraordinary as his art.

The Corn Hall Diss is pleased to be working in partnership with Creative Arts East for helping to programme film presentations.
