RANT
Scotland’s acclaimed chamber-folk quartet RANT return with SPIN — a bold
and reflective album reinterpreting tracks that shaped their musical
journey. With influences from across the globe, the album blends
nostalgia with RANT’s signature energy and finesse.
Featuring four of Scotland’s finest fiddle players — Bethany Reid, Anna
Massie, Lauren MacColl, and Gillian Frame — RANT create rich, resonant
soundscapes using only their fiddles. Their music is both spacious and
earthy, weaving together melodies from old
collections and original compositions.
Known for their love of performing in beautiful spaces, their 2019 album
The Portage was recorded in Mackintosh Queen’s Cross and earned ‘Top of
the World’ status from Songlines Magazine. Since their debut in 2013,
RANT have toured widely, contributed to Julie
Fowlis’ Gach Sgeul, and featured on BBC and ITV.
Expect a captivating live set full of tradition, storytelling, and musical brilliance.
