ROOM HIRE SPECIFICATIONS

 

The Corn Hall Diss offers flexible meeting rooms, conference spaces and event spaces in central Diss. The following overview will help you shortlist the right option; final layouts, facilities, availability and prices will be confirmed as part of your quotation.

 

Main Auditorium

Best for: conferences, presentations, performances, launches, fairs, large celebrations and standing receptions.

  • Theatre-style capacity: up to 296, including 155 seats on raked seating.
  • Standing capacity: up to 400 with the raked seating retracted.
  • Approximate dimensions: 19 metres by 12.5 metres, including the stage.
  • Extendable stage, large cinema screen and computer connection for presentations or films.
  • Lighting rig and audio system.
  • Upstairs green room with hanging rail and mirrors, available with auditorium hire if required.

 

Waveney Room

Best for: meetings, training, workshops, breakout sessions, networking and refreshments.

  • Approximate dimensions: 10 metres by 6 metres.
  • Tables and chairs can be arranged in a range of formats.
  • Small cinema screen with computer connection for presentations or films.
  • Normally used as the café, but it can be closed to the public and hired privately by arrangement.

 

Walden Studio / Council Chamber

Best for: board meetings, training, seminars, workshops and breakout sessions.

  • Approximate dimensions: 10 metres by 6 metres.
  • Carpeted room with tables and chairs that can be arranged in rows, boardroom or conference layouts.
  • Large wall-mounted television, approximately 54 inches wide by 33 inches high, with laptop connection for presentations or films.
  • Located directly above the Waveney Room.

 

Ground Floor Gallery

Best for: registration, meeting and greeting, informal networking and social space alongside a wider venue hire.

The gallery hosts a variety of exhibitions, which may include sculptures on plinths. It is therefore usually offered as additional space rather than hired independently. It is not available for hirers to display their own artwork.

 

Café, bar and outdoor seating

The Corn Hall Café currently opens to the public Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm, with food served until 2pm, and Saturday from 9am to 1pm, with food served until 12.30pm. Subject to guest numbers and prior agreement, café and/or bar service may be arranged at other times. Outdoor seating is available.

 

Exclusive use of The Corn Hall Diss

Exclusive hire includes the Main Auditorium, Waveney Room, Walden Studio/Council Chamber, Gallery, Café and bar and entrance lobby. Availability depends on the date, programme and normal public opening hours; ask the team about the best option for your event.

 

What may be included

  • Room setup before your event.
  • A Duty Manager in the building throughout the hire.
  • Stewards where required.
  • Box Office support for eligible ticketed events.
  • Agreed promotional support for qualifying events sold by The Corn Hall Diss.

Parking and loading

The venue does not have dedicated visitor parking. The driveway may be used for agreed loading and unloading, after which vehicles must be moved. Several public pay-and-display car parks are within a short walk, with the nearest approximately two minutes away. Parking at these council operated car parks can be paid for by cash or card at the on-site parking machines.
