Phil Greenwood – digital taster
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we have had to postpone our immediate exhibition programme for April and May but will be letting you have a brief taster of the shows digitally. We hope you will enjoy them.
When we are clearer about the Corn Hall reopening date, we will let you know when you can visit the gallery and see the shows in person.
Phil Greenwood has been a professional printmaker since 1971. He has exhibited extensively both nationally and internationally: including the Royal Academy, Bankside Gallery and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Greenwood depicts landscapes in atmospheric detail, but with considerable economy. Using only two or three colours he achieves a great range of tone and colour by overprinting and fusing one colour with another. Working from an amalgamation of ideas recalled, his images do not depict a particular place, yet they look strangely familiar.
