Swing Ukulele Styles Workshop – with Pete Arnold

If you want to play songs like I Got Rhythm, In The Mood, Sweet Georgia Brown and really make them swing, then this is the workshop for you.

·Add jazzy chord shapes to your repertoire

·Learn common chord progressions used in Swing music

·Add Swing rhythm techniques to your playing

·Add snappy beginnings, endings and turnarounds to songs   

Pete Arnold is a ukulele teacher and performer. He also runs Ukaholics Anonymous, a group of social ukulele players in Diss.

This workshop is part of our annual day of Ukulele-related music and activities. The headline act for the evening will be Anarchy In The Ukulele, who are taking the Ukulele scene by storm. Check out their Youtube channel. Their musicianship and striking harmonies bring a unique twist to Rock, Pop & Country classics. This will be a concert for all the family.

Earlier in the day Ukulele players will find a variety of singing and workshop activities, beginning at 11.30 a.m. in the Corn Hall with a Big Sing. Afternoon workshops on Swing Ukulele Styles and Making A Cover Song Your Own, with Anarchy In The Ukulele will be followed by an Open Mic in the courtyard.
