Charlie Haylock and “The Dig”

Venue: The Corn Hall
Located right on the border between Norfolk and Suffolk as we are, this is the perfect event for our Corn Hall audiences - and even more so as it takes place on Suffolk Day - a county-wide party to celebrate everything that is wonderful about Suffolk!

Charlie is always a popular and entertaining guest here at The Corn Hall and this is an intriguing and sometimes hilarious look behind-the-scenes in the making of the Netflix film "The Dig"...  a film based on the novel of the same title about the famous Sutton Hoo burial ship and the people involved in it's discovery.

Charlie will explain how a potential "scam" email from The Dig producer, turned out to be genuine, only to be followed by a phone call from the film's star, Ralph Fiennes himself.

Charlie will go on to demonstrate his unique and fascinating method of teaching actors, including Ralph Fiennes, how to master a regional dialect, so it sounds natural... and not exaggerated and "put on".  He will also explain the extreme lengths Ralph Fiennes took, not only to play Basil Brown, but to become Basil Brown.

Including clips from The Dig, this highly informative and entertaining evening is not to be missed!

N.B. Sadly, in spite of exhaustive investigations, we have not been able to procure the screening rights from Netflix to screen the film The Dig in its entirety, so this will not now happen at 5pm on the same day as Charlie Haylock's The Dig talk as previously mentioned. Many apologies for the disappointment and any confusion.
