Notes on Blindness (U)

Venue: Corn Hall

Directed by Peter Middleton & James Spinney, UK, 2016, 90 mins

With John M Hull, Marilyn Hull

After decades of steady deterioration, writer and academic John Hull lost his sight. To help him make sense of the ensuing upheaval in his life, he began to keep an audio diary. Based on his recordings and published diaries, the film recreates Hull’s fascinating and deeply moving experiences through an immersive mix of documentary, reconstruction and sensory cinematic techniques. Sensitive, poetic and thought-provoking.
