A Right Royal Draw-Along with Nick Sharratt, The Cat and The King, Timothy Pope and Tracy Beaker

Yesterday I went to watch Nick Sharratt do an entertaining ‘drawalong’ show at the corn hall. It was an amazing show and I’m very glad I got the opportunity to watch it.

He came out to the audience with a beaming smile- and was a very talented entertainer. The show was appropriate for all ages and my whole family really enjoyed it- we had a good laugh at my uncle’s drawings.

Nick Sharratt was very good at involving the audience and making them feel included, he gave good comments about people’s illustrations and my cousin’s illustraion was picked to be shown on the big screen.

Nick has a very good presence on stage and as I said, he incorporated funny moments for the little ones involving pants and sharks in parks and moments where the older children were able to get involved as he spoke about Tracey Beaker, a charcater we know and love.

Nick is a truly talented illustrator and I think it’s wonderful how he shared with us some great ways to draw, he gave good techniques and tips for the audience to take away and experiment with their own drawings. The example he gave about where to place the mouth to give greater expression was brilliant.

After the show Nick gave everyone the opportunity to have their books signed, and to share with him the drawings they had created during the show. He even added a picture on my book which I thought was a lovely touch. He was a very nice person to speak too and my mum even showed him a drawing of hers.

Overall this was a fantastic show and I really enjoyed watching it and it has encouraged us to try out some drawing of my own!
