Introducing The Keeper’s Daughter
Posted on 6th February 2017Hello all, we’re The Keeper’s Daughter! This is our first ever post on the website though we’ve been the resident theatre company at The Corn Hall for five years. We’ve got a bit to fill you in on…
We make theatre and film. Chiefly, but not exclusively, we create stories for teenage and young adult audiences. We’ve toured imaginative adaptations of classic stories throughout East Anglia for many years and in more recent times have begun creating our own pieces of genre writing. We’ve recently received an Arts Council grant to complete development on our new science fiction romance Tomorrow Is Your Hope and are currently engaged with The Corn Hall’s Wind Back Time community project.
Our role is to create a brand new professional theatre production tentatively titled The Wandering Spectre. The show will be a promenade ghost story inspired by local tales collected at one of the upcoming reminiscence sessions.
Next month we’ll be taking these memories and, with your help, turning them into theatre. We’re looking for community actors to come and join us in our two devising sessions on 7th March and 14th March 7-9pm in St Mary’s Church. You’ll work with us and other local actors to explore devising using true-life stories. We’re going to have a frighteningly fun time.
