Singer ,Georgia Mancio delighted Diss Jazz Club with her interpretation of songs by Tom Jobim
Posted on 16th February 2019Award-winning singer Georgia Mancio, brought to The Corn Hall a totally wonderful evenings music, fun and elegance. Presenting us with a beautiful musical array from the celebrated Brazilian composer Antonio Carlos ‘Tom’ Jobim, Georgia explained all the history behind each of Jobim’s songs before she sung them so exquisitely. With Chris Ingham on keyboards, Owen Morgan on Bass and Dave Ohm on drums, Jobim’s well known songs ‘Corcovado’, ‘One Note Samba’ and the wonderful ‘Girl From Ipanema’ were all performed with eloquence and amazing jazz harmony’s and Georgia performed with passion, heart and excitement.
Words cannot express how beautiful this concert was, you had to be there to experience it yourself. This was yet another brilliant and top quality concert from the Diss Jazz Club at the Corn Hall.
Not to be missed is the next Diss Jazz Club concert on Thursday 4th April 2019 at 7.30pm, a celebration of the Great saxophonist Stan Getz with The Chris Ingham Quartet featuring Mark Crooks, the woodwind star of the John Wilson Orchestra.
