TOM AND BUNNY SAVE THE WORLD
THE MUSICAL…
by Bethany Ely
On Tuesday 8th may I viewed the comedy performance of Tom and Bunny Save the World, the musical. Basically Tom and Bunny have to go on a journey to find Bunny’s family (including her dog Cliff) in Yorkshire. They meet many friends along the way and eventually find the mystery antidote… I found it very entertaining and funny. Gratefully it had a very well thought out plot, albeit I felt that the ending was slightly sudden and a bit random!
Unfortunately there was no age rating on the posters and flyers-giving no recommendation on who should watch the play. This was probably a bad idea because there was strong bad language and a few inappropriate references to sex throughout the play.
Overall it was not what I expected, but I enjoyed it nevertheless. Also I have not seen anything like it before.
There were many different art techniques used in the play: freeze frames, slow motion, and speed and well thought out transitions. Furthermore catchy music was thrown in to spice up the play even more.
From this excellent production by Fat Rascal Theatre I have learnt how to smoothly piece together and create a great performance that ensnares the audience’s minds and takes them on a wonderful journey in the form of a play.
To conclude I wholly enjoyed the production and would definitely recommend it for ages 12+
